Food Pantry
Our food pantry operates in cooperation with Operation Food Search and is
open to those living within the 63114 zip code.
Call (314) 429-1800 and the church staff will take information.
Then a food pantry volunteer will call you back to actually schedule
a food pick-up time. For a
list of other food pantries serving those living in other St. Louis area
zip codes call the 24-hour Operation Food Search Hunger Hotline at (314)
726-5355.
Bread Room
Overland
Baptist
Church
distributes free bread and pastry to the public on Tuesdays from 9:00 AM
to 10:00 AM. This service is
available to those living in the 63114 zip code.
Missions
Overland
Baptist
Church
supports national and international missionaries commissioned by the
Cooperative Baptist Fellowship and CBF of Missouri.
Individually, Overland
Baptist
Church
has helped start new churches in
Belarus
and India. Members from our church have
traveled to
Belarus,
China
and Uganda
for various mission projects. We
also support Mid American Indian Fellowship and its ministry to Native
Americans.
Locally, Overland Baptist
regularly sends volunteers to work in American Red Cross blood drives and
to the local Meals on Wheels program.
We also regularly send volunteers to help sort food at nearby The
St. Louis Food Bank warehouse and at a Bosnian Food Pantry in St. Louis. Mission projects at Overland
Baptist
Church
are promoted by our Women’s Missionary Union.
Overland
Baptist
Church
does several annual community service projects.
In the fall we conduct an annual school supply drive benefiting
local elementary schools. We
conduct a Halloween Trunk or Treat project as part of the local Safe
Streets initiative. At
Christmas we host a community-wide party for all local families with
special needs children. Every
other year we host the local high school choir and orchestra holiday
concerts in our sanctuary. Every
June we conduct Kids Club, an program that’s a lot like Vacation
Bible
School
except that it’s conducted in a local city park.
We also offer local senior adults monthly educational programs and
subsidized monthly day trips. |
